Shawn Mendes was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1998. He started picking up his music skills by practicing his guitar following YouTube tutorials. He was discovered through his popularity on Vine and was signed to Island in 2014. His first single, “Life of the Party,” was a huge success and landed him in the top 25 slots for Billboard’s Hot 100. He was the youngest musician to do so in such a short time. Picking up speed, he also won the Teen Choice Award in the same year for Webstar in Music, reaching more and more fans. From there, he’s continued to produce music and lend his vocals to covers that gained huge success.
